Oakridge Riding Academy offers riding lessons for horse enthusiasts. We provide instruction in all seats, saddleseat, huntseat, and westerns to riders of all ages and experience. We pride ourselves in fostering an educational environment, that values safety and positivity. Our instructors work one on one or in a group setting. Tailoring instruction to the ability of each individual rider. Our variety of Morgan and Saddlebred schooling horses meet the many skill levels of students in the program. Within the academy program are additional opportunities to grow your experience by attending shows with our team. Whether you are a first-time rider or an experienced competitor we will provide personalized instruction that will allow you to grow your equine knowledge and ability.

Group Riding lessons

ORA is excited to be starting up group riding lessons.

We will be offering a variety of group riding environments that you will find fun and educational.

During the lessons riders will;

  • Will connect with their teammates

  • Go on trail rides

  • Learn riding Etiquette

  • Encourage self directed riding

  • Prep for show environment

  • Build confidence and trust

Each group will be limited to no more than four horses.

Group riding lessons will be an hour long

Required Attire

Long pants, shoes or boots with a heel and a helmet is required for all riders under the age of 18. We can provide you with a helmet if you do not have your own.

NO SHORTS, CAPRI’S OR SANDALS

If you have been riding for two months you are require all riders to invest in proper riding apparel.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy: 

A 24 hour notice is required for cancellation of any lesson regardless of the reason. If canceling with 24+ hour notice, the lesson can be rescheduled within the same calendar month. If canceling with less than 24 hour notice, the lesson will not be rescheduled or refunded, regardless of the reason. Students will be responsible for the lesson fee even if paying per lesson. Rescheduled lessons will not be carried forward into another month.

Late Arrivals: 

If you arrive late to your scheduled lesson, your lesson will end at the regularly scheduled time. Students who arrive more than 15 minutes late will be unable to ride as this is disruptive to the rest of the class. In addition, the

abbreviated time schedule will not allow for a regular lesson to take place. This lesson will not be rescheduled or refunded.

Weather Cancellations: 

Our lessons are held rain or shine. Lessons will be cancelled in severe weather such as thunder and lightning, heavy rain/downpour, hail and sleet. ORA will follow local school closings – if schools are closed due to severe weather, the barn will be closed as well. These classes will be rescheduled. If your lesson must be cancelled due to inclement weather, we will attempt to contact you before the lesson at the number you have provided. Please make sure that your instructor has your current contact information. If you don’t hear from us, you should assume that your lesson is going to take place. Remember that weather conditions at the barn may be different from weather in your area at any certain time.
